Greg Clark, Esq., Phony Navy SEAL

A few weeks ago VeriSEAL received a note from a concerned, former ex-SF trooper in Scottsdale, AZ inquiring about the SEAL status of a certain lawyer by the name of Greg Clark. It seems Clark spent his evenings in an upscale biker bar called the Billet Bar where he would regale the customers with his tales of derring do about his days with 'the Teams.' Some of his stories included his time with the SEAL Teams in Vietnam, and the failed hostage rescue attempt at Desert One. His last rank in the military was supposedly Lieutenant Commander. His endless telling of 'war stories' finally got to some real veterans and one of them, a former SF SCUBA instructor (I checked him out and he was the real deal) got tired of listening to this crap and contacted VeriSEAL. It took nearly thirty seconds to verify there was NEVER a person by that name in the Teams.

Floating around the Billet Bar were stories that lawyer Greg Clark had defended some Hell's Angels in court. I wonder how the boys in black feel now that they know that not only is the lawyer a liar, but also lies about having been among America's elite fighting forces.

When Jim Wade, former Vietnam Seabee, got the word there was a fraud operating in his AO, he decided to go visit this bar and knock back a cold one with 'brother' Clark. Well, I was home and by the phone when the big exposure took place, Jim fired up his sometimes-trusty cell phone hidden in his pocket and I heard the entire show from my ringside seat here in Maine. First he befriended this character and posed for some photos with the 'former SEAL.' Then, in keeping with the program, Jim spoke in his quiet, soothing way for all to hear that their famous 'SEAL combatant' drinking buddy was a total fraud and liar.

The word from Scottsdale is that he has not been seen in that bar since. Maybe he went for a one-way ride to the desert with one of his 'biker friends.' Who knows?

Greg Clark, lawyer and liar, and one of his admirers. We chose to keep her identity out of it as, like so many who fall for these creeps, she was an innocent victim. Nice tattoos, though.
