| Heavily
tattooed Frank Stephen Jett -- AKA Bear, Polar Bear and countless
other aliases and SSNs -- fake SEAL and former U.S. Navy X-Ray Technician,
at the request of U.S. Authorities, was arrested in August 2002
in Costa Rica by local authorities assisted by Interpol. Jett
had been operating investment scams through at least one Cayman
Island shell company identified as Unicorn Investments, Ltd., or
Unicorn Property Investments, Ltd., and had reportedly defrauded
numerous investors of considerable sums of money. He claimed
routine involvement in blackmail, extortion, prostitution and assassination. Also
included in his charade were accounts of his CIA Black Ops.
(All fakes invariably claim that they worked for CIA at one time
or another) and Mafia connections.
When
VeriSEAL issued a fraud advisory profiling
Frank Jett, he responded in the guise of a Randy Lewis,
ostensibly a U.S. Special agent speaking on behalf of Frank Jett. Mr.
Lewis attempted to assert that Jett was a U.S. Special Agent
under deep cover and that VeriSEALs investigation
could cause serious harm to Frank Jett and an ongoing covert
operation. We responded by offering to meet privately with
Mr. Jett at the Tabacon Hot Springs near Lake Arenal or the Garden
Court Hotel in downtown San Jose, Costa Rica in order to verify
his bonafides. No further communications were received from Mr.
Lewis.
For
some time, we were involved in tracking down this low life. Jett,
who stands 64 and is of considerable weight, casts
a foreboding shadow, but underneath that bulk lurks the same timid
and diseased soul all these fake bastards possess. It is
that of a lying coward and con man. Even if these phonies
do not con people out of money, they are steadily and continuously
defrauding those who have earned the right to call themselves
SEALs. By posing as a former Navy SEAL while engaging in
scurrilous activities, and threatening those who cast a close
eye on his operation with visits from his mob connections,
Jett placed a stain on the name of the Naval Special Warfare Community
and all military veterans.
Jetts
days of plunder are over for the time being. Last we heard,
old Frankie boy was cooling his Jetts in a lockup in the Atlanta
area while awaiting trial on numerous state and federal charges. If
and when he finally emerges from his current predicament, we will
be watching and waiting. In the meantime, lets hope
he has a good time convincing his cellmates what a tough guy he
really is.
